Baystate Health’s Blood Donor Center for our Give Local Campaign at Springfield Regional Visitor Center
The Springfield Business Improvement District and the Springfield Regional Visitors Center has partnered with Baystate Health’s Blood Donor Center for our Give Local Campaign. Our Campaign is focused on raising awareness and increasing donor-ship here within the community.
A blood donation truly is a “gift of life” that a healthy individual can give to others in their own community. In one hour’s time, a person can donate one unit of blood that can be separated into four individual components that could help save multiple lives.
As the regions only level 1 trauma center, The Baystate Health Blood Donor Program keeps 100% of the donations it collects to provide a much needed blood supply to:
- Baystate Medical Center
- Baystate Franklin Medical Center
- Baystate Mary Lane Hospital
- Baystate Wing Hospital
- Baystate Noble Hospital
- Baystate Children’s Hospital
- D’Amour Center for Cancer Care
Our Give Local Campaign will run from September 29th –October 2nd at Springfield Region Visitors Center located at 1319 Main Street (corner of Main and Bruce Landon Way) from 10am to 4pm. Interested donors are encouraged to stop by to meet with a Baystate representative for more information on blood donations, prescreening, and to make an appointment to donate at the Baystate Blood Donor Center located at 361 Whitney Ave in Holyoke
All eligible donors will receive a gift card to Big Y, Dunkin Donuts, and various local restaurants.
*Platelet donations are by appointment only and can be made by calling (413)794-4600.
**For blood donations, walk-ins are welcome but appointments are given priority.
