DEWEY’S LOUNGE OPENING
OPENING IN SPRING 2021
Dewey’s Jazz Lounge was created from a true love of jazz music, passion for exceptional food & drink, and a desire to unite community members. Dewey’s intends to create a vibrant environment where everyone feels welcome to come listen to talented, local musicians and enjoy craft cocktails & progressive American cuisine. Located on Worthington St. in Springfield, Dewey’s Jazz Lounge is set to open in the spring of 2021.
WHITE LION BREWERY TAPROOM OPENING
Springfield’s own brewery, White Lion, is fully in operation when it comes to brewing their beers here in downtown. Since the opening, they’ve been hosting pop-up cans to go events. Coming out with some killer new brews. In 2021, we have the taproom and commercial kitchen to look forward to! Stay tuned for the opening date. Until then, stop by and grab some cans to go and check out the digs.
MARRIOTT AT TOWER SQUARE
Amidst COVID-19 and the impacts on the hotel industry, Springfield Hospitality LLC; owners of Tower Square Hotel, managing partners; Vid Mitta, and Dinesh Patel push forward with renovations to ensure a superior brand available in Springfield downtown for 2021 travelers.
As we partner with the city of Springfield, we are confident that the multimillion-dollar transformation will draw travelers to Springfield. Our owners are passionate about the transformation and believe in the project as well as the city of Springfield. We are confident with the partnerships of organizations like the BID, GSCVB, Springfield Chamber of Commerce, and Spirit of Springfield, the Marriott Springfield Downtown will have great success 2021 and beyond.
OVERLAND LOFTS OPENING JANUARY
Overland Lofts is a new mixed use development currently under construction in downtown Springfield, MA. The project will feature the historic renovation of the original showroom for the Willys Overland Motor Company. The 76,000 square foot building will include 60 loft apartments with state-of-the-art features such as granite kitchens, stainless steel appliances and washers and dryers in every unit. Amenities will include indoor parking, fitness center, storage units and a lobby with shared work spaces, a package delivery area, a kitchen and lounge area, which will be available for private events, and a common area with soft seating for casual gatherings.
The design will celebrate many industrial features of the original building with brick walls, exposed ductwork and industrial style windows, which will let in abundant natural light. Complementing these historic features, the building will include state of the art energy efficient windows, insulation, appliances and HVAC.
The first floor of Overland Lofts will include 3,680 square feet of retail space facing Chestnut Street, a major thoroughfare in downtown Springfield. The retail spaces can be demised for tenants as small as 1,200 square feet.
1636 RESTAURANT DINE-IN OPENING
1636 North is a new restaurant in Downtown Springfield located at 220 Worthington Street. For the time being, they’re only offering take-out and delivery from Uber Eats and GrubHub while the restaurant undergoes remodeling and logistics to ensure the safety of guests and staff. Stay tuned for their dine-in opening coming in November! 1636 North will provide a modern environment with an open kitchen design.
1636 North reflects Springfield’s history. When you walk in you’ll notice images on their walls of Springfield dating back to 1902. They plan on incorporating different elements of Springfield’s history within the theme as well. The name 1636 North comes from the year in which Springfield was founded in, and North is the direction which one faces while standing in front of the establishment.
WAHLBURGERS AT MGM SPRINGFIELD
Wahlburgers has pushed back the planned opening of its restaurant at MGM Springfield until Spring 2021.
“The Wahlburgers MGM Springfield team looks forward to welcoming guests through its doors next year and sharing all of the hard work that has gone into making this restaurant truly special for the Springfield community,” a Wahlburgers spokeswoman wrote in an email Tuesday.
