Columbus Day Parade

The Sons & Daughters of Italy are proud to announce the long-awaited return of the Greater Springfield Columbus Day Parade on Sunday, October 12, 2025 at 2:00 PM.

For nearly a century, the Columbus Day Parade has been a cherished tradition in our community — a celebration of Italian-American heritage, discovery, and the many contributions of immigrants who helped shape our city and region. After more than two decades, we are honored to bring this historic event back to life.

A Tribute to Local Heroes

This year’s theme is: “From the New World to Our Neighborhood: A Tribute to Local Heroes.” The parade will not only honor Christopher Columbus and our Italian heritage, but also pay tribute to the men and women who serve our community every day — police officers, firefighters, EMTs, veterans, educators, civic leaders, and volunteers.

Parade Highlights

• Floats, marching bands, and cultural performances
• Local organizations, schools, and community groups
• Special appearance by the newly crowned Miss Columbus Day Queen and her Court
• Italian-American pride on full display with music, flags, and family celebration
