Springfield Museums, Astronomy Day

Join us for an out-of-this-world day at the Museums! Enjoy activities and demonstrations on the Museums Grounds and in the Science Museum. Astronomy Day began in California in 1973 as a way to share the joy of astronomy with the public and has grown into a worldwide annual event. Free with museum admission!
- Skygazing with guidance from members of the Springfield STARS Club.
- Take a virtual trip to Mars and tour several surface features as if you were flying above them.
- Learn about the Space suit in our soon-to-open Space Station gallery and see water boil at room temperature.
- Planetarium shows and more hands-on demonstrations and activities.
