Springfield Museums, Earth Day Festival
April 24, 2022 @ 11:00 am - 4:00 pm

Our annual celebration of clean air, land, and water featuring eco-friendly demonstrations and special exhibits on the Quadrangle Green. Free and open to the public!
In honor of the 200th birthday of Frederick Law Olmsted, a pioneering landscape architect whose work includes Springfield’s very own Forest Park, learn how his parks were designed to offer multiple health benefits and continue to provide important ecosystems services to the community.
This year marks the 32nd annual Earth Day Festival celebrated at the Springfield Museums!
Dan Augustino, Museums Aquarist and organizer of the Earth Day Festival said: “The Earth which can be studied as a single system with many interconnected parts helps us to understand the complex nature of our planet which is truly awe inspiring. We hope everyone will take time to consider what inspires them about Earth Day.”
“Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing’s going to get better. It’s not!”–Dr. Seuss, The Lorax
Every year on April 22, Earth Day marks the anniversary of the birth of the modern environmental movement in 1970.
