SSO Presents Love on Broadway with Maestro Rhodes
February 22 @ 7:30 pm - 10:00 pm
Kevin Rhodes, Conductor
with soloists Emma Grimsley, Jane Rhodes, Stephen Mark Lukas, and Nathaniel Hackmann
Give your valentine the perfect token of your affection! Maestro Rhodes brings back the ingenue with the bell-like voice, Emma Grimsley, and lively character actress Jane Rhodes (so terrific last year performing Adelaide’s Lament) who, combined with a leading man with a “grand-slam voice,” Stephen Mark Lukas, and the lush, rippling baritone of Nathaniel Hackmann, will fill Symphony Hall with romance and delight performing classics of the Great White Way. Sit back, relax, and enjoy songs about love from the Broadway stage from composers ranging from Irving Berlin, Lerner and Loewe, and Rodgers and Hammerstein, to Leonard Bernstein and Stephen Sondheim.
Selections include I Could Have Danced All Night (My Fair Lady), If Ever I Should Leave You (Camelot), If I Loved You (Carousel), Agony (Into the Woods), Getting Married Today (Company), You Can’t Get a Man With a Gun (Annie Get Your Gun), Song That Goes Like This (Spamalot), Somewhere That’s Green (Little Shop of Horrors)… and many, many more!
Special Love on Broadway package available with concert tickets, dinner, and overnight accommodations at the Sheraton Springfield Monarch Place. Full Information on the concert and package at https://www.springfieldsymphony.org/event/love-on-broadway-with-maestro-rhodes/
