Symphony Hall, Springfield Symphony Juneteenth Concert
June 19 @ 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm

Join us as we celebrate unity, freedom, and the power of music this Juneteenth at Springfield Symphony Hall. We are pleased to host a special concert on Monday, June 19, at 3:00 pm. Maestro Kevin Scott will lead our fantastic Symphony Orchestra along with special guests the Avery Sharpe Quartet, the Springfield Symphony Chorus, and the Extended Family Choir.
We are thrilled to be performing a diverse selection of pieces, including the powerful anthem “Lift Every Voice and Sing” by J. Rosamund Johnson and J. Weldon Johnson, as well as the uplifting spiritual “Oh, Happy Day” by Edwin Hawkins. The program also features contemporary symphonic works such as Quinn Mason’s “Inspiration! Festive Overture” and Jessie Montgomery’s “Soul Force,” which are sure to captivate audiences. And we can’t forget the stirring traditional spirituals, such as “A City Called Heaven” and “Wade In The Water,” along with newer works like Hezekiah Walker’s “Better” and Avery Sharpe’s “Antebellum.” It’s going to be an unforgettable experience!
Admission is free, and seating is general admission, but be sure to reserve your ticket to ensure your spot. You can book your tickets online or visit our box office. Experience the joy of music as it unites us all in commemorating this significant day in history.
