Your Red Sox Winter Weekend Rundown
The Boston Red Sox are coming to Downtown Springfield for Winter Weekend. Just because you don’t have tickets, doesn’t mean you can’t get in on the fun. Here’s your complete rundown of everything happening in downtown during this historic weekend.
DOWNTOWN SPRINGFIELD ICE SCULPTURES
While you’re out and about getting your Red Sox fandom on, you may notice some ice sculptures placed at just about every corner in downtown. Over a dozen ice sculptures will be placed around the downtown area for the 3rd Annual Downtown Ice Invasion. Everything from Wally to Red Sox players to pineapples and Baby Yodas. RED SOX WINTER WEEKEND SCHEDULE
Winter Weekend is the Boston Red Sox’ annual fan event, where thousands of enthusiastic Red Sox fans join the team to gear up for the upcoming baseball season. Winter Weekend 2020 will take place at MGM Springfield and the MassMutual Center, on January 17th and 18th.
PLAYER & ALUMNI AUTOGRAPHS & PHOTOS @ MGM SPRINGFIELD AND THE MASSMUTUAL CENTER
Each Weekend Pass to the event comes with guaranteed access to one autograph and photo session with one or two of the attending players/alumni/coaches. Please note that the individual(s) signing autographs in each room is different from the individual(s) taking photos.
Autograph and Photo Sessions will take place at both MGM Springfield AND the MassMutual Center. Please make sure you are paying careful attention to your wristband to ensure you go to the correct location. You will receive your wristbands when you check in for the event at the MassMutual Center box office.
BREAKFAST WITH WALLY & TESSIE/DINNER WITH WALLY & TESSIE* @ MGM SPRINGFIELD
Join Wally and his sister Tessie for a mascot-themed breakfast and dinner for kids and families on Saturday morning and early evening! *separately ticketed events for additional charges
SEASON TICKET HOLDER LOUNGE @ MGM SPRINGFIELD
Season Ticket Holders are invited to stop by their exclusive Lounge on Saturday, January 18 to relax and unwind while connecting with other Season Ticket Holders and the Red Sox Season Ticket Services team. Complimentary snacks and refreshments will be available throughout the day, as well as games, giveaway opportunities and more! Proper credentials required.
TOWN HALL MEETING @ THE MASSMUTUAL CENTER
Winter Weekend kicks off Friday at the MassMutual Center arena, right after members of the 2020 Red Sox are introduced. The Town Hall will air on NESN at a later date.
FAN FEST @ THE MASSMUTUAL CENTER
This year’s Fan Fest is comprised of 3 areas: the Family Fun Zone in the Exhibition Hall, the Social Media Lounge, and our new ‘Wally’s World’ area. Make sure to visit all 3 spots between Friday night and Saturday to test your fastball at the speed pitch, get your picture taken with the four World Series Trophies, giveaways, and more!
BASEBALL INSIDER PANELS @ THE MASSMUTUAL CENTER
This year’s panels will take place at the MassMutual Center. There will be no pre-registration for panels. Access to the panels will be first-come, first-serve.
TICKET TOWN @ THE MASSMUTUAL CENTER
Dedicated sales representatives will be available on Friday night and throughout the day on Saturday to assist with ticket purchases for the 2020 season, including a chance to purchase tickets for summer games before they are available to the public.

There are dozens of restaurants located in the heart of downtown Springfield. In anticipation of the thousands of visitors coming in for Red Sox Winter Weekend, many of the our great eateries will be extending their hours.
BREAKFAST – Cause it’s the most important meal of the day
Frigos – 90 Williams Street – will be open with special breakfast hours and menu beginning at 7am. Enjoy breakfast sandwiches, assorted danishes and muffins, hot coffee and more.
Granny’s Baking Table – 309 Bridge Street – Open 7:30am to 4pm, Granny’s Baking Table offers exceptional coffee, tea, beignets, biscuits, pies, and more.
Blake House Cafe at the Springfield Museums –21 Edwards Street – 9am – 3pm – The Blake House Café has been serving up freshly-made fare since 2012. Enjoy lunch with friends and fellow museum goers or grab a coffee and pastry to go.

Located in the heart of downtown Springfield, Massachusetts, the Springfield Museums offer access to five world-class museums, including the Amazing World of Dr. Seuss Museum and the Dr. Seuss National Memorial Sculpture Garden, all under a single admission.

Springfield Armory National Historic Site commemorates the critical role of the nation’s first armory by preserving and interpreting the world’s largest historic US military small arms collection, along with historic archives, buildings, and landscapes.
The Connecticut River Walk and Bikeway includes 3.7 mile stretch along the Springfield riverfront which provides outstanding opportunities to bike, run, walk or rollerblade in view of stunning scenic vistas of the Connecticut River, the Springfield city skyline, and Memorial Bridge.

MGM Parking Garage – MGM Springfield’s Parking Garage has a 3,400 parking spots and is free to patrons and the public.
On Street Parking – On street meter parking is free after 6pm on weekdays and free on weekends and holidays.
Springfield Parking Authority There are 9 downtown parking lots that will be open with various rates.
** From MGM Springfield to the MassMutual Center, there will be a giant tent on Main Street to help direct Red Sox Winter Weekend goers to each destination. Expect road closures from Union Street to Bruce Landon Way from Main Street.
