Ugly Sweater Pub Crawl

Thursday, December 8th

Our Ugly Sweater Pub Crawl will be taking over the downtown streets again for a fun night of downtown bar hopping and holiday shenanigans. Ugly sweaters are a MUST. The walking pub crawl will begin at White Lion and continue to Jackalope, Del Rey, Dewey’s, Smith’s, and The Fort.

Festival of Trees

November 25th - December 11th

We invite you to celebrate the holidays at the Springfield Boys & Girls Club’s Annual Festival of Trees located at the MassMutual Center.  Trees donated and decorated by businesses, civic and social organizations, schools, hospitals, families, and individuals are raffled off at the conclusion of the event. Try your luck at winning your favorite!

Free Admission Tickets Available at the Springfield Visitors Center.

NOVEMBER 25TH - JANUARY 1ST

Join us on 11/25 for the opening of the Ice Rink and the Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony. Festivities begin at 5:30 PM with a special holiday performance by members of the Springfield Symphony Chorus and appearances by your favorite New England mascots. A brief welcome program will begin at 6:00 PM followed by the official tree lighting and grand opening of the skating rink.

Experience the holiday season at the Museums! Starting the day after Thanksgiving, the Springfield Museums will offer dozens of programs. From The Lighting of the Quadrangle to meeting the Grinch and much more.

DECEMBER 3RD

Come celebrate festive holidays with the Springfield Symphony Orchestra and Chorus. Guest conducted by William Waldrop and featuring renowned soprano Camille Zamora, this family-friendly program will celebrate Christmas, Hanukkah and holidays all over the the world. Expect to hear a wide variety of beloved holiday hits such as “White Christmas,” “Feliz Navidad,” “The First Noel,” “Tu Scendi Dalle Stelle” and many more. This exciting evening of music will also feature local high school choral students from Springfield, Holyoke and Deerfield Academy.

Breakfast with Santa

NOVEMBER 26TH

Santa Claus is coming to town on Saturday, November 26! Guests can partake in breakfast with Santa including pancakes, scrambled eggs and other items, while meeting and greeting with Jolly Old Saint Nicholas.

Attendance to the breakfast also includes free admission to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Springfield’s 22nd Annual Festival of Trees at MassMutual Center, featuring over 130 unique and beautiful trees donated by local businesses, organizations, families and individuals. Proceeds will benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs of Springfield.

BRIGHT NIGHTS

November 23RD - January 1ST

Since 1995, Bright Nights has been a unique public/private collaboration between the City of Springfield’s Department of Parks, Buildings & Recreation Management and the Spirit of Springfield, a private non-profit organization. Together they have welcomed more than 6 million visitors. It has been calculated that if every bus that had visited were lined bumper to bumper, they would go from Springfield to Cape Cod. The cars would go as far as California.

$20 passes now available for purchase at the Springfield Visitors Center.

HOLIDAY MUSIC SERIES

NOV 26TH, DEC 24TH, & DEC 31ST

Union Station’s Holiday Music Series begins on November 26th, with live music provided by Tom Conley, on the antique piano, tucked in beside the Christmas Tree on the historic concourse. Patrons can enjoy the sounds of the season, as well as timeless favorites while they wait for their bus, train or arriving loved ones.

215th Army Band Holiday Concert

The Spirit of Springfield proudly presents a FREE holiday concert by the 215th Army Band of the Massachusetts Army National Guard on Sunday, December 11th at 2pm in Symphony Hall. Tickets are available at the William C Sullivan Visitor Center.

A kids lunch buffet, 4 unique cookie shapes and decorating supplies are provided for each child’s ticket price of $25.
